Sweet & Sour

How many times have you eaten something that was so sweet, it even left you licking your fingers, but later on your stomach turned sour, and you got diarrhoea! Well am not talking about real food here, am talking about things that you have done and enjoyed doing them, but later on you regretted ever doing them why? Because they end up causing you more harm than good.

What examples can I give? You have a well paying job, but your still stealing from the company, when your stealing, everything is sweet, but when your caught, everything will turn sour. Pastors who go to the extremes and even source for ‘powers’ from the under world so that their churches are full and they can perform miracles. Truth is a time will come when you will be exposed, and everything will not be so sweet but sour. You have a business agreement with someone, your both entitled to 50/50, but you find a way to get 60% and your partner 40%, you will enjoy the benefits for a while, but when your caught, your partner will terminate the contract and all the sales that you had will decline. Your having your own little private affair yet your married, when your caught, you will most probably loose your family.

What are you hiding when no one else is looking? What secrets do you have that if found out will turn sour on you? Live a life that is full of Intergrity, live a life that is like an open book, that even when people open through your pages, they will not find any dirt, but will turn through the pages of your life and smile!

Change We Desire To See

When the queen of Sheba went to visit King Solomon, she had heard a lot about his wisdom and wealth, and so she decided that she had to go and see for herself is all was true. After her encounter with king Solomon, she says in 2Chronicles 9:5-6 “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true. But I did not believe what they said until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed not even half the greatness of your wisdom was told me; you have far exceeded the report I heard.” She had been told a lot about Solomon, and as we humans say “seeing is believing” she had to see if what she was told was true or not. Alas! the report she heard, surpassed everything that she saw, when she met the King face to face.
Many a times we have heard stories of people around the world who have done great things, world changing ideas and projects and when we read about them, we normally go “on wow, thats incredible, how did they think of that?” At times you would want to meet this person, so that you can say hi to them, because you’ve termed them as your ‘hero.’ Well we can’t all be innovators or create apps that can be used by all around the world, but we can certainly be ‘world changers’ if we want to. How can we do this? it can be the smallest of things you will do, like being a blessing to someone on the street or volunteering in a homeless shelter. Giving to the needy, giving back to the society, it doesn’t have to be money, it can be your time, your resourceful mind to bring ideas and so much more. You might just be one person, but you can bring change to the community, you just have to start.
Doesn’t matter what age you are, what matters is the vision and the change that you want to see in the world. Proverbs 22:6 “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” If we call taught our children how to take care of the environment, if we all taught them from an early age how to treat others, and the ways of God, wouldn’t our world be a better place to live in?
Let us all take up the words of King Solomon, by teaching our children from an early age, so that when they grow up, they will not depart from it. If all your children see is violence in the house, what will they become? If all you ever discuss at home is how you hate a certain tribe, will they not grow up hating the same tribe? If all your child ever see’s in the house, is pornography and music videos of women who are half naked, will they not want to explore? Parents it all starts with us, in our homes, and what we teach our children, the language we use in our homes. Don’t preach wine and expect you will get water, no! absolutely not, what you sow in your children is what you will reap!
Change starts with me, change starts with you! Be the change you so desire to see in this world!

Mother’s Day

We have all had a love hate relationships with our mothers! Whenever we were caned or denied something we wanted, we got annoyed, sulked but at the end of the day, Mother dearest was always right. Mothers have been given a task and a mandate from God to take care of their children until such a time they can take care of themselves. A mothers job is ordained from Heaven above, with lots of love, a tender touch, full of mercy, and forgiveness……..

To every mother out there, you are special!

Kifaru Primary – Emba West

Earlier today the Embakasi West Eagle Mamas Welfare Association were @Kifaru Primary School were we held our weekly mentorship programme with the boys and girls and we also donated sanitary towels

Pastor Solomon Sila did us great honours by mentoring the boys and encouraing them, we also touched on gangs and guns. Nyokabi Mbugua led the other team in talking to the girls, and we talked about pregnancy, abortion and rape.

Not all these children can attain the number 1 postion, but as #eaglemamas, we strive to teach them good morals which will help them as they grow up to become men and women who will one day lead this great land! Raise both the boy and girl child to be responsible people when they grow up having respect for one another, and putting God first.

To God be all the Glory!

Mentorship @Umoja 1 Primary School

DSC_0001Earlier today the Embakasi West Eagle Mamas Welfare Association were @ Umoja 1 Primary School were we held our weekly mentorship programme with the boys and girls. Today were talked about how to deal with broken families, rape in girls, sodomy in boys, low self esteem among many other topics.
Our children are going through alot of emotional trauma, which we as parents have put them through. Some of the things that we have allowed our children to go through, is just but shocking, parents have refused to take responsibility for the actions that they have made in life, and are instead taking it out on their innocent children. If we keep mistreating our children, they will grow up with pain and hurt in their hearts and will build a wall around themselves to guide them from future hurt. They will start becoming emotionless, cold as a stone, when this happens, its the inner man that has been crying inside this shell we call a body.

You see a man dressed in a suit, but inside is a young boy who never got the attention of a father or mother, a boy who has been caged inside his own body! We see a young beautiful woman all smartly dressed, beautiful weave, nice handbag, everything of hers is a statement! But inside she is crying for the love of a father and mother. This is the main cause of marriages breaking, and people having a don’t care attitude. The woman will say, as long as I have my babies am fine, while the man will say, I will marry someone else and get other children. This is our society right now! This is how people are now living! There is however an innocent person that is paying for all this and that is our children! We’ve become a society of baby mama’s and baby daddy’s, no families, no marriages! Where can we get help from?
We first need to realise and accept that there is something wrong, otherwise if we don’t recognise the error, then how can we rectify it? We need to keep the family unit together, just as God intended it to be. We need to teach our children the importance of family. Yes a man made you pregnant and ran away, but do not take out revenge on the baby by telling them all sorts of lies. Don’t tell them ‘your father died’, don’t tell them that their fathers or mothers are loosers, instead wait until your child is old enough and explain to them what happened, so that when they grow up they will not have emotional outbursts. As difficult as it would be, you need to forgive the partner who hurt you and release them. Don’t make your children pay for something that happened to you, if it didn’t work out with the father or mother, and they want to see the baby, allow them! Let your children have that bond that they should have with their parents, if they want to. However, if the parent would harm the child (there are cases) then by all means protect the child.
If we don’t do this, not only will this current crisis escalate, but we will soon have a generation of children, who will not want to have families, they will want to be Independent, but we will have lost our children! May God help us.
Let us bring sanity back into our lives by allowing Jesus Christ as head of our families. He will always guide!
